A Question with Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

We have all seen and/or studied Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs at some point. It makes sense to us in helping us prioritize or understand order of importance. In our work with clients this understanding is important and essential. In understanding certain questions on the exam, this understanding will also be important. As social workers, we can use this as a guide to assess where our client is, and what needs the client has to be met. For instance, if we have a client that has come in for therapy to help get along better with his daughter but is about to be evicted from his home that week, then discussing living situations will take top priority. Keep this in mind when you see a question where there are multiple presenting problems, a client is overwhelmed, etc. The question doesn’t even have to mention Maslow, it is just a good reference to keep in your mind. Look at the practice question below the illustration, and share your answer in the comments. The answer and rationale will be posted on Thursday.
