2024 is Your Year!

Happy New Year!

December is a hard time to study for an exam. During this busy time, regardless of what you celebrate, routine is not easy to find. I usually warn my customers that I coach about this when the month of December is in their study plan.

However, January is a great time to study for an exam! People are getting back into routines, there is a new energy and mindset for a lot of us. So even if we aren’t quite feeling ready, seeing motivation in others can be helpful to get started. I have always found this chart to be beneficial to help us with the goal-setting process. Look at the chart above to help determine how you want to get started then look below for a blank template for you to fill out to develop your own specific plan.

This chart covers all the necessities for setting a goal. Make it specific. Instead of saying, “I’ll study for this exam.” It encourages you to expand on that–

When Will I Study? Are you a morning person, more alert in the evenings?

For how long? Be realistic here. Don’t set yourself up to fail. Start small and build up.

How Will I Study? For example, will Mondays be devoted to practice questions and Tuesdays devoted to content studying? Will Wednesdays be a review with flash cards? Thursdays an audio recording?

When do I want to take the test? Allow yourself time for life to get in the way. It always does!

Take a look at this chart. The article is also attached that gives specific examples. Then use the blank template to create your own goal. Best of luck to you, and Happy New Year!
