EPPP Physio Study Aid: The Hippocampus

The hippocampus is part of the limbic system and plays vital role in learning and memory from regulating learning, memory encoding, consolidating declarative memories, and spatial navigation. Damage to the hippocampus can cause amnesia that prevents people from forming new memories (anterograde amnesia) and remembering past experiences (retrograde amnesia).

Memory Aid:

If you saw a hippo on campus, you would remember it!
