Occasionally, a good book comes along that really resonates with us. Mental health practitioners may enjoy reading about peoples’ lives, struggles, hopes, dreams, achievements, cultures, and values. Consequently, non-fiction, particularly biographies and autobiographies, may appeal to us. These stories may function as a means of escape or a form of entertainment. Perhaps most importantly, these works contribute to our appreciation of human perseverance in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
