Great question, Emily! Hopefully others will share their tips as well, but I'll be glad to get the conversation started! I was actually someone who put off anything to do with this exam for 9 months after I started working. You can't fail what you don't take, right?! Lol Here are a few things that helped me, but I think what helped the most was knowing myself and my needs and making realistic plans from there.

My supervisor finally told me to just schedule it. She knew I needed that pressure of having a date to work toward, and I'm the type of person who does well with a deadline.
I set aside roughly 1-2 hours each weekday and 3-4 hour chunks on the weekend with specific, achievable goals for each day. Because I scheduled it in and let my family know, they were supportive of protecting my time and it took the guesswork out of what I needed to do since it was already laid out. I was of course flexible when life happened or just had a a harder day at work, and it all worked out in the end.
I paired studying with enjoyable things. For example, I didn't want to be cooped up indoors studying, so I took my studying outside. The best part of that was my family could be outdoors too doing their thing and I could join them afterward. I didn't feel like I was missing out, and felt like there was a good balance.
I told myself I was only taking this exam once. For some, that could be very anxiety provoking, but for me, it was enough to keep the pressure on. Not giving myself that out helped me prioritize my time and ultimately, once I started studying, I took and passed the exam within 3 months.
